An alternative to using a concrete base or slabs. A grid system made from recycled plastic which can be filled with gravel to create a sturdy base for your building.

Keep rainwater away from the walls with one of our guttering systems. Protect your building from harsh weather conditions and water damage with these great yet simple solutions. Single sided guttering is great for smaller buildings or upgrade to dual gutters for increased protection on larger buildings. Collect the rainwater and use it to water your garden as a cheap and more economical option.

The padlock is a 65mm long shackle which is a high quality security lock with brass finish. The steel hasp and staple is 169mm and is made from electro hardened galvanised steel. It is also supplied with recessed and concealed fittings.

The Silicon and Gun Set uses a silicone sealant which prevents mould and fungal growth and comes complete with a skeleton gun as standard. This product is ideal for sealing in the windows of your garden building!

This is a low cost, convenient solution, perfect if you don't already have your own tools. This kit includes: Hard point saw, Safety goggles, Paint brush, Pocket level, Claw hammer, Rigger gloves.

This unique hasp & staple type shield offers a high level of security by reducing the exposed area of a padlock to the bare minimum. Specifically designed to prevent unwanted entry being gained to sheds, garages & workshops by protecting against break-ins.

What size base does this building need?
All garden buildings should be assembled on a firm and level base. A base will ensure your building has a solid, long-lasting and well-drained foundation. If you want to build your own base, from a sturdy material such as concrete or flagstones, you can find minimum dimensions for each size of this building in the tech specs. In order to protect your building from moisture, you should leave a 2ft gap around the exterior of your building, so remember to take this into consideration when laying any sort of base. Our robust and simple to use EcoBase provides you with a firm, long-lasting foundation with suitable drainage for your garden building. It is quick and easy to install through the use of snap connectors that link the grids to each other.
Where can you place the windows and doors?
Any side! We have designed this building to fit your garden, which means you can totally customise the placement of the windows and door.
What is the cladding thickness?
Constructed using 7mm cladding, the boards simply overlay each other. Overlap construction allows rainwater to naturally run off offering straightforward weather protection against the harsh British weather.
Will I need planning permission for this building?
If the building is shorter than 2.5m tall you should not require planning permission, (unless it’s more than 50% of your garden or to be put in your front garden). Planning permission rules can vary by area so we would strongly recommend checking your local council rules before ordering from us.
How long does it take to assemble this building?
We do not offer an installation service on any of our buildings, as they are designed to be easy and simple to assemble. Using the assembly instructions included in your order confirmation and with a team of at least 2 people you can expect to have your BillyOh building up within a day, or as little as 3-4 hours with some of our smaller buildings.
How is the building delivered?
Our sheds are delivered in easy to build pre assembled panels. For your convenience the panels are no wider than 4ft so they can be easily maneuverable and fit through a standard doorway.

Pent Design Roof Style

A pent shed like the Switch Overlap is a fantastic option for a modern-looking garden building. The Pent Roof gives you lots of headroom for use as a storage shed or internal use, whether that's as a workshop or even with potting benches. The modern silhouette of this type of roof isn't just aesthetically pleasing, too. It also allows for easy and efficient drainage - reducing the chance of water ingress in your shed. The Switch Overlap's roof also comes with a covering of protective green mineral roof felt as standard.

External Overlap Cladding 

The Switch Pent is equipped with strong 7mm Overlap cladding that provides a safe seal for the building and gives it a natural, rustic appearance.

Overlap cladding uses wooden boards that overlap each other. With this style of cladding, the board above overlaps the board below creating a wooden panel with a tight seal that is almost impenetrable to water and the elements. With this cladding, you can get a versatile shed with long-lasting weather resistance for a great price.

All sizes of this building come with everything you need included as standard, making assembly quick and easy - meaning you can have your new overlap shed up and running in no time!

Maintenance and Treatment

The BillyOh Switch comes spray-treated as standard. Our spray treatment of chemical preservatives will keep your shed's cladding in great shape for years to come by preserving the quality of the timber. 

The chemicals prevent rot by filling in the gaps water might seep into. We recommend treating the shed annually after assembly. This means you'll have a shed that stands the test of time.

Installation Service and Assembly

We don't offer an installation service & assembly service on our BillyOh buildings. Instead, we provide you with comprehensive assembly instructions and pre-measured and cut panels that are designed by our expert craftsmen to fit perfectly and easily together.

We do recommend that any garden building is built on a level, solid base. Use a solid foundation like a concrete base, or a fast-fill gravel base. Alternatively, try out our amazing plastic Ecobase, available at checkout. We also offer assembly kits for those who don't own the tools required to assemble the BillyOh Switch.

Planning Permission

The Switch Overlap Shed falls under 'permitted development' and won't require planning permission, as:

  • It's single-storey.
  • It isn't intended for permanent residential use.
  • It doesn't exceed a max eaves height of 2.5m.
  • It doesn't exceed an overall height of 4m (dual-pitched roof like an apex or -reverse apex) or 3m (any other type of roof, like a pent).
  • It won't take up more than 50% of your garden area (unless you have a very small garden)
  • It isn't built past the front wall of your house.

However, you should still check your local council's planning permission rules as they may vary from area to area.
